Unveiled at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro, Carlo Ancelotti announced the full squad for the Seleção. Global icon Neymar Jr. was called up in tandem with 25 others for the star studded tournament in North America this summer.
GOALKEEPERS (3): Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Ederson (Fenerbahce), Weverton (Gremio)
DEFENDERS (9): Wesley (Roma), Marquinhos (PSG), Danilo (Flamengo), Alex Sandro (Flamengo), Gabriel (Arsenal), Ibanez (Al Ahli), Leo Pereira (Flamengo), Douglas Santos (Zenit), Bremer (Juventus)
MIDFIELDERS (5): Casemiro (Manchester United), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), Fabinho (Al Ittihad), Lucas Paqueta (Flamengo), Danilo Santos (Botafogo)
FORWARDS (9): Matheus Cunha (Manchester United), Luis Henrique (Zenit), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Endrick (Lyon), Neymar (Santos), Raphinha (Barcelona), Rayan (Bournemouth), Igor Thiago (Brentford), Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid)
A large core remains from their friendlies of recent, with the biggest change being perhaps the biggest there could be with Neymar rejoining, slotting in in the stead of the likes of Joao Pedro who did not make the cut. It will be interesting to see how the legendary Carlo Ancelotti will prepare this team of stars in the build up to the World Cup opener against Morocco on June 13th.
